My Path to Heaven Family Retreat – DAY 1

Thank you for joining us for our at-home retreat! We hope that this is a prayerful and reflective experience as we dive into the 12 Chapters of My Path to Heaven.

Before we start, make sure that you have a copy of My Path to Heaven. You will need the book to read each Chapter and study each Chapter picture.

First, watch the Chapter 1 video below with Therese, your Holy Heroes Adventure Guide who will be leading you through this retreat. She will explain how to use your book and walk you through each component of the Chapter.

After you have watched the video, scroll down to see the discussion questions. These questions are great for dinner conversations, during your evening family prayers, or another time that is appropriate for your family’s schedule.

Under the discussion questions, you will see the Chapter activity. This is an optional activity for kids who best learn through creating!

Then you will find the answer key for the “yes or no?” questions found at the end of Chapter 1 in your book. Feel free to reference this document if there is a question you are unsure of the answer (though we think you will be able to figure out the answers yourself!).

Finally, you will find the Chapter 1 quiz. This is best completed AFTER you have finished all the other components for Chapter 1. You can attempt the quiz multiple times if needed.

Discussion Questions:

1. Can you think of some things that help you become who you were made to be?
2. The Saints are great examples to us of what it means to know, love, and serve God. Can you think of some of the ways your favorite saints did this during their life?

Activity:

Create your own picture about how you are slowly walking upwards towards God. Include all the ways people and things help you grow to know, love, and serve God.
